This is a clip from the Wim Wenders documentary Pina (2011), which I strongly recommend watching. The documentary was created in memory of the international award winning choreographer Pina Bausch, by Wenders and her ensemble, the Tanztheatre Wuppertal. As you can see from this clip, Pina's work is a mix of dance and theatre. She often used dialogue, interaction, costume and props in her work, as well as choosing elaborate sets in which her dancers perform. The result is absolutely beautiful art. I'm brainstorming how I can use some of her cross-genre ideas for my solo show.
